Seasonal FAQ's
"How much Sno-Flock do I need for my Christmas Tree?"
• This is highly dependant on how thick/ dense you want to apply the material, and what effect you're trying to achieve (e.x. Just on the tips, or all the way to the trunk) To begin to estimate how much you actually need a standard 7.5' Noble Fir with a medium flock job will take around 3 pounds of our Sno-Flock Flocking Material. You can read more about flocking styles and see our chart on flock estimates here.
"How long does Sno-Flock really last once its applied?"
• Sno-Flock is an all natural cellulose based material. Over time it will slowly break down and begin to fall off. Proper application is key for a long lasting flocking job. If applied properly, and care is taken when storing, shaping, and decorating your tree Sno-Flock should last 3-5 Seasons. If you use our method concerning Spray Adhesive, it could potentially double its life span. We recommend that you "touch up" your flock every 2-3 seasons for maximum effect. "How until Sno-Flock begins to yellow?"
• Generally a Christmas tree is set up for 30 - 60 days per season near a window in indirect sunlight. It takes Sno-Flock an average of two years (730 days) in full sun to begin to yellow noticeably. With this in mind, Sno-Flock will stay pure white for an average of 10-12 years. However, storing your tree in a dirty area without protection or touching the branches with dirty hands will greatly reduce the pure white appearance of the Sno-Flock.
"How long will Sno-Flock last in its bag?"
• Sno-Flock, when tightly sealed and stored in a cool, dry place, will last about two years. Afterwards, it may begin to clump together.
